All welcome on the Eastern District's ringing outing to Aldrington, Brig
hton and Shoreham, in the following order:
Aldrington - 6 bells, St P
eter's - 10 bells, St Nicholas - 10 bells, The Good Shepherd - 8 bells, Sho
reham - 8 bells
Pubs will get cro
wded and noisy, particularly with new Uni students on pub crawls. For
tunately B&HFC are away that day! Near St Peter’s there is
the North Laine Brewhouse, just south of the tower. Opposite is Trafa
lgar Street which as you head up the hill towards the station has the Princ
e George (Vegan), Great Eastern (cosy), Lord Nelson, Prince Albert and at t
he end The Grand Central. Closer to St Nick’s is the Evening Star (cosy), S
ussex Yeoman, Duke of Wellington and Craft Beer Co (Upper North Street).

Nick's transport advice:
Car drivers could park at Al
drington until 10.45 then move. Parking anywhere in Brighton & Hove is
horrendously expensive during the day.
West of Portslade Station
Road (only a short distance from Aldrington) parking is unrestricted (but o
f course finding a space is the next problem!)
The next zone towa
rds Brighton from Aldrington covers the bit inland from Hove Lagoon (look a
t the Brighton parking zones map
https://parkingzonesmap.brighton-hove.gov.uk/) and is restr
icted 10.0-11.0 so could be used after Aldrington.
Anywhere
around St Peter's and St Nic's on street parking is metered and probably c
hock-a-block! - Car parks may be available -at a price!
Par
king is currently unrestricted immediately around and to the west of Good S
hepherd so could leave cars there while in the centre? (if there are any sp
aces!) Parking is metered in the roads at the back of the church.
Personally I think I would go by train a
nd bus! Plenty of buses Aldrington to Brighton City Centre, or train from P
ortslade.
