The Festival of Bells takes place at Alfriston on 12th July from 11am to 4pm.
There's plenty planned for ringers and non-ringers:
Striking Competition with a difference to suit all abilities. Everyone will enter individually and the teams will be drawn so that every team has a mixture of abilities. This way everyone gets a chance to win! [No chance for those clever towers to run away with all the prizes]. View Rules.
Open ringing and practice on the bells from 11am. Entries close at 1.30pm and the competition will start at 2pm. You will be told what team you are in and what time your team is ringing.
Meanwhile take part in the Treasure Hunt; have a go on the Bell Meadow mini ring; listen to Handbells in the Clergy House or have a go yourself on the Tye; enjoy refreshments in the village hall or in there are plenty of places to eat and drink in the High Street; Check out the Exhibition.
So much to see and do in so little time! See the attached poster for full details. Festival_of_Bells_Poster_July_2014.pdf
