Death of William (Bill) Hubbard (Burgess Hill ringer)

It is with regret that we have been informed of the death on 31st August 2018 of William (Bill) Hubbard, a member of the Burgess Hill band.

Bill was a member of SCACR for 50+ years and a held roles as Tower Captain and Secretary at Burgess Hill for many years.

The funeral will be held at St. John the Evangelist, Burgess Hill on Thursday 4th October 2018 at 11:00am.

There will be ringing before and after the service.

Bill's family wrote to thank those who rang for the funeral: Thank you all so very much for the ringing that you and your colleagues carried out yesterday at Dad's funeral. How wonderful and joyous; we all really appreciated your efforts. Dad would have been so proud and I will always think of him (and Mum) when I hear church bells.

Death of Jane Powell (Bosham ringer)

It is with regret that we have been informed of the death on 26th July 2018 of Jane Powell, a member of the Bosham band.

Jane's funeral is at Holy Trinity Bosham on Tuesday 7th August at 2.30pm followed by cremation at 3.30pm. Any ringers who would like to attend would be very welcome at the service. The dress code is very casual. Anyone who wishes to attend the crematorium is welcome. The plan is to go back to the Anchor Bleu after the crematorium.

There will be ringing before the service from 1.45pm and also afterwards. Jane’s husband John has asked if we can half muffle the bells as she particularly liked the sound.
Please let the Bosham Ringers know if you would like to ring so they have a rough idea of numbers.

Death of Hugh Baddeley (Rudgwick ringer)

It is with regret that we have been informed of the recent death of Hugh Baddeley, a member of the Rudgwick band. A service celebrating his life and sharing memories will be held on Tuesday 10th July 2018, 2pm at Holy Trinity Church (Rudgwick, West Sussex, RH12 3EB), followed by light refreshments. There will be a retiring collection shared jointly with St Catherine’s Hospice and Holy Trinity Church (no flowers by request).

The Rudgwick band will be ringing after the service and would be pleased if you could join them.

Death of Martin Donner (Hartfield ringer)

It is with regret that we have been informed of the death on 28th June 2018 of Martin Donner, a member of the Hartfield band.

Our thoughts are with his family & friends at this sad time.

Death of Godfrey FitzHugh (Hailsham ringer)

It is with regret that we have been informed of the death on 18th June 2018 of Godfrey FitzHugh, a member of the Hailsham band and an Association Long Service member.

His funeral is to be held at Hellingly church on Wednesday 4th July at 11am followed by refreshments at The White Hart, Horsebridge.
