Master

The Master oversees the activities of the Association through the District & Team structure. He/she chairs the formal meetings of the Association including AGMs and General Committee Meetings (GCMs) and may be invited to chair all or part of District and Association Team meetings. He/she submits a report of the Association’s activities to the March GCM for inclusion in the Annual Report and adoption at the AGM. The Master is limited to a three year term of office.

  • Wears an impressive chain of office & has the interests of the Association at heart
  • Needs a sensible head & a good listening ear
  • Drinks a lot of tea
  • Has the full support of a great General Committee
  • Chairs 2 GCMs (Mar & Nov) & an AGM (May)
  • Gets to eat a lot of cake

Annual District Meetings - February 2018

February is a hive of activity for the Association with many opportunities for you to ring and meet/make friends from across your District and beyond. No matter what stage you are at with your ringing, everyone is most welcome - ringing will be from rounds upwards.

All four District Secretaries would be pleased to see you at your Annual District Meeting - your chance to give feedback on District events and happenings, elect your District team and nominate Officers for General Committee positions. Ringing Remembers: 1,400 new ringers for Armistice Day 2018

In November 2017, an exciting new campaign was launched to recruit 1,400 new bell ringers to participate in the 2018 Armistice Day commemoration. 2018 will be the centenary of the end of World War I, in which more than 50 Sussex ringers lost their lives. So far, only 121 new recruits have registered nationwide. The New Year is an excellent time to attract new learners: many people are looking for new challenges and new ways of getting fit.
